What We Do!

We Educate

Our main goal is to establish a thriving learning environment for children and young people.

While we teach many subjects, we primarily provide classes in English, Chinese and IT.

We want our alumni feel confident in the job market and be able to apply skills they’ve learnt in their job search and future employment.

We Care

We care about children’s future. We provide basic hygiene education and materials for both handwashing and toothbrushing to children.

We want to instil good habits so that our students grow up healthy and understand the importance of hygiene.

We Consult

Salariin Kampuchea provides career information and job announcements at SK’s office and library. The Librarian and Project Coordinator keep abreast of job opportunities by consulting the local press, job sites and partner companies. Job announcements are posted in the library, and staff are made available for consultations with students requiring advice about career options. Further career services are also provided during life skill classes.

We Make Reading a Habit

In our library, we provide access to thousands of books. Our students can read alone, or with the support of our staff and volunteers, while educational games are also available. They can choose their preference for books from the broad selection of genres and books in both Khmer and in English.

We Turn Theory Into Practice

Our students frequently have the opportunity to put their knowledge in the practice! Recently, we visited the Angkor Wildlife & Aquarium, where we all could learn more about wildlife and see creatures and see them up close. Experiences like this enable us to spend more quality time together and strengthen the relationships between our students, while teaching them through exciting measures.

We Help University Graduates Get Into Their Jobs

We are open to help those who are completing their studies by enabling them to get valuable internships. We welcome university graduates who seek the opportunity to train in our school before they start their professional career.

We Find Donors/Supporters

We find supporters and donors who are able to fund our educational projects for children in our community of Siem Reap.

We Build Networks

We build networks and connect our partners and friends who have the same vision and goal globally.

We Strengthen

We strengthen and improve our services in education for children and young adults.

We Stimulate Development

By organizing Mental Arithmetic classes every Sunday, we aim to develop students’ cognitive function. Not only do our pupils learn how to use abacus and other classic tools, we also prepare different exercises which help them stay focused and attentive, and improve memorization.

We Stimulate Community Engagement

We are open towards everyone who could benefit from our support! That’s why we provide counseling for parents, where we teach parenting skills. Besides that, we support our graduating students in making first steps in their professional career: we assist and guide them, help them understand the requirements needed for university, we advise on how to become their dream professional and which skills such a person needs. We help our students get their first experience by letting them volunteer during various events around the city.

English For Kindergarten Children: English is a core skill to obtain nowadays. Therefore, we are committed to start teaching as early as possible and getting the students familiar with English from kindergarten. This will benefit them in the future!

English For Older Students: English for everyone! Our trained staff will make sure that children easily reach a communicative level of the language. We also work with teachers from abroad who are native speakers – in such an environment, learning is easy!

Chinese: We are committed to making our graduates stand out in the job market, and so we also offer Chinese language classes. Students not only learn to speak, but also learn about the culture of the region.

IT classes: Computer literacy is as important as other subjects. We want our students to be able to verify the information they find on the Internet and build critical thinking skills. We familiarize them with the use of programs, such as Word and Excel, which are valuable to know when in the job market.

Mental Arithmetic: We aim to develop students’ cognitive function. Not only do our pupils learn how to use abacus and other classic tools, we also prepare different exercises which help them stay focused and attentive, and improve memorization.

Community Library: The safety and comfort of our students is a top priority for us. That’s why we offer a community library where everyone can find a spot to relax after classes, do homework, play with friends or read books from hundreds of titles we possess.

Building More Toilet Facilities: In many parts of Cambodia, students face challenges when accessing proper sanitation facilities, which can increase absenteeism among students. Our goal is to provide modern, safe, and private spaces for everyone to take care of their private needs.

Life Skills Program: We were keen to develop students’ skills that will be useful to them in everyday life, such as budget management to promote good financial planning in the future!

Football Sport Program: Our goal was to promote a healthy lifestyle, encourage physical activity, and support sports talents.

Environmental Education: By running this project we aimed for our students to become environmentally conscious, promote critical thinking and develop problem solving skills. Students learnt about climate change and the impact of plastic usage. Then we went outdoors, equipped with bags to collect rubbish around the school, which we then handed over to the rubbish company.

Partnership with hotels: This created an opportunity for students to get a first-hand professional experience during high tourist season. Students were able to learn from scratch how to cater to guests, assist in the kitchen and how to work on the reception desk.
